I Could Never Be Your Woman Trailer

All I want for Christmas is Michelle Pfeiffer's return. Santa's running late. Here's the trailer for I Could Never Be Your Woman. It says Valentine's Day but I'm hearing it's already pushed back to March.

Continuing today's theme of "hell yes! / oh no!" this is directed by Amy Heckerling who directed Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Clueless (hell, yes!) and also Look Who's Talking and Loser (oh no!). Woman looks a little Diane Keaton in Something's Gotta Give-cutesy (or worse?) but I'll take La Pfeiffer whenever and wherever I can get her, thank you very much.

Tthe trailer makes it look kind of run of the mill, but I hear it's kinda quirky and a little goofier than the usual rom-coms. I wanted to see more of Tracey Ullman's "Mother Nature" in the trailer and more of Stacey Dash. they didn't even show Fred Willard =(

looks like a solid movie though, I think Michelle would have been a shoo-in for a Globes nom for Musical/Codey this year, but Bauer Martinez and MGM had to f*ck that up, oh well.

Make that ***Musical/Comedy*** damn keyboard :-)

I think musical/comedy next year could totally happen, though (this year was actually unusually competitive in that category... though in the end, they made some pretty random choices).

I think Pfeiffer looks good in it, but my two main gripes are:

1) I could never believe she was ever married to what's-his-name, and
2) Why is a woman who looks like that at 48 worried about getting older? Clearly she's immune to the aesthetic drain of aging.

hehe Adam, remember she did date Fisher Stevens in REAL LIFE, so with that in mind, I have no problem believing she'd marry Jon Lovitz in a movie ;-)

She looks gorgeous and fun. What is up with the title, though? Why not "Thirtysomething" or "Ageless" or "Growing Down" or something more... fun?

Amy Heckerling wen to Tisch woooooooooo!

And I am dying to see this movie, now. It looks so pleasant, and that's all I need right now. Fuck Letters from Iwo Jima. I'm tired of this Cult of Clint Eastwood, I'm tired of the Oscars, and I'm tired of..this Cult of Clint Eastwood.

Wow. She looks spectacular, and movie looks like it could be fun.

I cannot believe in a Pfeiffer-Lovitz couple existing credibly in any universe, but I was otherwise pleasantly surprised by the trailer - it doesn't look nearly as kooky as I thought it would be, and Michelle and Paul seem to work very well together (all that smooching action ;))

I think it looks adorable.

and I agree with David, I'm equally sick of this emerging COC in Hollywood.

Michelle looks stunning -- positively radiant -- and appears to have lost none of her megawatt star power. Paul Rudd is such a cutie. But Jon Lovitz is a terrible choice for La Pfeiffer's ex-husband. The ex should possess some degree of appeal in order for the audience to believe that she would have ever married him in the first place. A fun choice would have been Alec Baldwin, her hubby from Married to the Mob.

Norm McDonald was supposed to play Pfeiffer's ex-hubby, but they kicked him off the project for some reason. He wouldn't have been that much better than Lovitz, but I dont have a huge problem with it.

the cast is very eclectic.
but it's good that stacey dash and tracey ullman are getting work. underused they are.

i'm just praying. PRAYING that Heckerling is on her A game cuz if this is anywhere close to a Clueless while also featuring the return of Pfeiffer I may float up into heaven while watching.

but i'm not going to get my hopes up.

er...

i know it sounds like i already did but i must be strong. there's three Pfeiff movies for 2007. at least one of them's gotta be good right?

if they're all good and hits all she would really need is an ace drama for 2008 and that Oscar would be hers. the power of momentum for public love and all that.

I beleive 2007 will be Michelle Pfeiffer's "COMEBACK" she's beyond great. "ICNBYW" looks funny and witty!

Michelle Pfeiffer is "An Amazing Actress"!

michelle pfeiffer looks great but the film and the story seem to be very very uninspired... really... we know all this...
for me it looked a bit like "Prime" starring Meryl Streep and Uma Thurman, just that "Prime" had a better story
